Wow. I don't really want to write this review as I want to keep this gem just for us but that would not be fair to our hosts, Tony and Julia. We were delayed almost 5 hours but even though it was 2am Tony was waiting patiently at the Villa and gave us a full tour. He had left a welcome pack of a bowl full of fruit, bread, eggs, jam, milk, orange juice, ham, cheese and even a bottle of wine! The villa is quite isolated from shops so the food was brilliant. The worst thing about the villa is the very steep and narrow drive up to villa, especially in the dark, but as long as none of neighbours drive at same time, you get used to it. All the roads in Corfu are challenging when compared to UK. The charm of the villa and the spectacular views took our breath away. We loved it!!! Take your mosquito repellent and plug ins as even in October and despite nets on all windows, we were bitten. The pool was cold (unheated) but if you wait until late morning it is warm enough for a swim. Kalami beach is the nearest village and we ate at The Durrells White House, Vitamins in Nikasi and at Tavernia in lovely Kassiopi. Nice walk along the coast with a footpath joining Agni beach to Kalami. If you are up for a challenging walk down to Kalami, turn left at the bottom of the drive and at the sign to Kalami walk between the houses to a footpath that comes out near The White House. It is a steep downhill walk so keep enough energy for walk back up. When driving to villa, it is in Gimari (Tony's detailed directions are spot on) but when you get to the only traffic light on the coast road (outside of Corfu town) turn sharp left and go up, up, up... We will definitely be going back. Pat, Paul & Matt
